Learning SEO, Social Media & Guerrila Marketing with Sparkah

“The Internet is the world’s largest library. It’s just that all the books are on the floor”

- John Allen Paulos

The Internet wears a two faced mask. It can either be a total time waster or a great source of knowledge. Recently, I’ve been thinking about the Internet phenomenon and how it affects the way we learn. One thing that is becoming more and more obvious to me, is we are moving away from the traditional ways of learning to a more unstructured Self Learning Process.

I truly believe that experience is the best teacher. With college costs going through the roof and the job market slowing down due to the economy, I believe we are entering a shift in time.

A time, where those who succeed are not necessarily those who hold a piece of paper but those who have the passion and desire to think unconventionally.

The Internet has truly made the world a global village and as long as you have a good Internet connection, you have access to a wealth of information at your finger tips. We live in an era where experts, mentors and information are just a click away. You just have to be savy enough to find it. Because the internet, has a lot of garbage that can suck you dry.

One of my goals this year, is to try to learn one new thing each week. I think I’ll be reserving Sundays to sharing with you guys, some of the things I’ve been up to in this Self Development Journey. Whether online or offline. I’ll also be reserving it for Inspirational quotes/Motivational words for the following week & maybe a quick reflection of what has been going on in my life. So if you’re interested in this kind of thing, be sure to check back every Sunday.

So what have I been learning this week? SEO, Social Media and Guerrilla Marketing with Sparkah. I think one of the the biggest skill that’s a must have in this new Internet age is Social Media Marketing  and the ability to sell oneself.

Whether your’e trying to sell your skills to get yourself a job, get your blog more viewers, get new customers for your business or sell your talent. You could be an artist, designer, musician or film maker, it doesn’t matter! As long as you have something that needs to be put out there, in this already messy, over saturated, crowded place called the Internet, you’ll need to know how to promote yourself online.

Now back to Sparkah, I found out about their YouTube channel, Viral Marketing Expert from my husband who sent me one of their videos to watch. What I love about the guy, is his unconventional thinking! He is truly not your typical Social Media Marketing expert, he makes you think, “Wait a minute that makes so much sense, now why didn’t I think about that!”

I spent most of my weekend going through this playlist on SEO & really enjoyed it! To the point I had to share it with you guys. I’m thinking of taking sometime to watch some of his other playlists as well.

Share some of the stuff you’ve learned or are looking to learn in the comments below.

Will see you again tomorrow but ’till then,

Thanx so much for stopping by ♥,

Much Love & Stay blessed,

Dee

Nice, nice. Definitely good food for thought. Coming from a very traditional home of disciplinarian parenting and appreciation towards degrees I’ve come to really see how my perception of learning has drastically changed. Most of my learning takes place in the internet nowadays and of course experience is the best teacher :) I like though how you’ve made it an objective to start learning something new every week. Looking forwards to some tips and updates ;) Hope you’re doing good ;)?!

Yes I understand you completely both my parents, my late Father and my mother were/are Professors, therefore the focus was always on degrees and sciences specifically medicine, it took a lot of convincing to get on the path I am now. Reflecting on the current state of affairs it seems everyone has a degree or two. The competition is extremely high and honestly employers are scaling back. I really feel like there is a need for anyone in this current market to rethink their strategies when it comes to school & business. The ways of the past are just not cutting it anymore.
Yup I look forward to sharing whatever I learn, hopefully I will inspire and motivate others also. thanx so much for stopping by Gozika.
