This week from August 26th ’till 28th is Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Stockholm. Being that I’m currently based in the Stockholm area, I thought it would be a great idea if I dedicate these three days to covering some stuff from the events. Besides Black and White, the collection features fabrics in gold, Bright yellow, cobalt, icy grey, warm brown and navy.
At 15:00 Hunkydory will present its SS/14 collection at the Bernz big saloon. Hunkydory style is a mix of bohemian-chic and rock n’ roll. The SS/14 collection finds inspiration from the 1960′s, presenting a graphic collection that is simplistic and stripped down while adding a sporty touch with a bit of attitude.
At 16:30 HouseOfDagmar unveils its SS 2014 collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Pavilion in Kungsträdgården. A collection that is inspired by the study of mapping done by artist Rebecka Bebben Andersson. The art work Nolli Stockholm, graphically maps out the safer and rougher areas of the Swedish capital.
In reflection to the mapping, the collection contains two colors schemes from the urban mapping. Bright and pure – that with light neutrals and transparent layers reflects the confidence and drive during the day – and the dark and obscure – that with twilight shades and three dimensional fabrics mirrors the tentative uncertainty at night. The Colors are urban and eclectic. There is a lighter palette – of pure white, light grey, cream and nude with some metal sparks – and a darker palette that is dominated by deep black, midnight blue and henna, with bright pink as a pop color.
At 18:00 Filippa K will showcase their S/S 14 collection at humlegårdsgatan 22. The Filippa K philosophy is based on Style, Simplicity and Quality. The style can be defined as pure minimalism, with a modern yet timeless design. By combining this style with high quality, perfect fit and love for details, Filippa K makes wearable fashion for modern urbanites who appreciate good design and quality.

Day 1 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Stockholm will end with ERÏK BJERKESJÖ showcasing their S/S 14 collection at 20:00 at the Bernz big saloon. The S/S 14 collection is inspired by the drama of the international pandemonium of the mid 20th century. A lush line of hard silhouettes inspired by outdoor activities on the Swedish island Gotland. New wave music as a movement and austerity associated with Ingmar Bergman emissaries. Post-modern craftsmanship. Materials such as exquisite tanned calf leather, Egytian cotton, cashmere and formed wool allude to the effortless elegance of the line. The whole collection is made in Italy. The color palette fused by white, grays, blacks and inky shades further underlines the austere look of the range.
