Trending :: Denim On Denim

Hi luvs,

Hope you are all having a great week so far. I wanted to share with you a trend I’m loving right now, Denim on Denim.

I love it because it is soooo versatile, its comfortable, simple and it works for anyone no matter what your personal style is.

You can make it casual or dress it up. Pair blue denim with colored denim for spring. Try denim shorts, skirts and shirt dresses during the summer. Layer it with coats and pair it with boots during the fall and winter.

This is one trend you can wear throughout the year just by remixing different pieces in your wardrobe. Use Accessories to jazz it up and bring forward your personal style.

Checkout out the many ways you can wear the trend below:

The Lazy Day Puff with product reviews from Feb & March Curlkit Boxes

Hi luvs,

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Today, I wanted to share with you what I call my “Lazy Day Puff”. I call it this because this is a puff I like to wear towards the end of the week when the style I had in, whether it be curls or a twist out ain’t looking as good anymore. I also call it my “Lazy Day Puff” because sometimes when I’m feeling too tired to redo my hair at night I simply moisturize the puff add some leave in conditioner, throw in a satin scarf and call it night. I know this is asking for tangles and knots but I’m sure once in a while you do it too… lol!

I used products I received from the February and March Curlkit Boxes. So this will also be a review on those products.

If you would like to receive 10% off on your curlkit subscription or any of the products they offer you can click on this link for a coupon code. CURLKIT COUPON CODE

Here is a list of the tools and products I used:

I really like the Alikay Naturals Lemongrass Leave In Conditioner, it smells like fresh lemons, it gives me that tropical vibe. Alikay Naturals is a line of hair and body products by BlackOnyx77 a YouTuber who is one of the “pioneer” natural hair vloggers.

I sprayed the leave in conditioner on my puff before going to bed and put on my satin scarf and called it a night. The next morning I was pleasantly surprised to find my hair soft with minimum tangles and knots.

It says on the product that “it locks moisture in your hair without weighting it down or causing product build up.” I must say I agree, I didn’t experience any product build up from using this product continuously for a week . It is also very lightweight.

The first ingredient in this product is water which is great as it is a moisturizer. Other ingredients include Glycerin, Almond Oil, Wheat Germ Protein, Silk Amino Acids, Lemongrass Extract, Behentrimonium Methosulfate(Rapaseed oil) , Herbal and Botanical Blend. It does not contain Petroleum, Mineral Oil , Alcohol, Parabens, Sulfates or  Silicones.

I used the Oyin Handmade Burnt Sugar Pomade to smooth down my edges. Seriously  I love love love this stuff! it smells

AH-mazingly yummy. I really wanted to try it on a twist out but since its a mini, I just don’t want to waste it, I’m trying to use it sparingly lol.

The first ingredient is castor oil, which is great coz my hair loves this oil. It also has hydrogenated soybean oil, organic virgin coconut oil, mango seed oil, olive oil, unrefined hempseed oil, candelilla wax, cocoa butter and broccoli seed oil.

I decided to use the B’s Organic Almond Oil on the ends of my hair. This oil also contains Vitamin E and B5. B5 is known to help with hair growth. This oil has been deodorized and if I were to define its smell, it reminded me of bubble gum.

I also used the Pink Curls and Wave Eco Styler Gel to further slick down my edges. I must say I’m not a big fan of gels because my hair usually crunches up, dries up and I have to deal with flaking and product build up. But I was pretty impressed with this particular one. I experienced none of that! it does say that it contains glycerin, which is known to be a humectant i.e pulls in moisture.

If you want to know how I achieved this puff, you can watch this video below where I demonstrate it.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Much love and stay blessed ♥
