Monday Motivation – When God Makes Plans…

Hi luvs,

Hope y’all had a wonderful weekend. Just wanted to let you guys know that I’ll be travelling for about a week. Not sure when exactly I’ll be back, but will resume regular blog posts from next Monday.

Otherwise depending on the logistics of where I’ll be, you’ll be able to catch me on instagram :)

Today’s motivational post is short and sweet. I don’t have a lot to say but lately “the world” has been off balance. Plans that I’ve made have changed and things are out of my control. It’s so easy to feel defeated when curve balls are thrown in our path. As I was browsing tumblr the other day…I came across this spiritual inspiration below. Perfect timing!

When God has other plans

Even though we may not know the reasoning why certain things happen the way they do, we must trust that the higher power/the universe if you will, has a better plan and everything happens for a reason. It may be hard to understand at the time and we may never understand the reasoning behind some things.

While its easy to carry the weight on our shoulders and go on about our day stressed, depressed and angry at the situation… We need to learn to let go, rise above the circumstance and trust that it is exactly as it should be. We need to put a smile on our face, embrace the situation, look at the brighter side of things and be thankful for all the blessings we still have in our lives.

I’m not saying to deny ourselves from feeling sad, down or even cry when we need to… because I do believe sadness just like happiness is an important part of life. The two opposites bring balance, for every negative there is a positive, what goes up comes down e.t.c

But I do believe in having a choice as to how we deal with the situation, whether we let it break us or we triumph over it and overcome.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, NIV)”

Have a wonderful week ahead and remember no matter your circumstances..Smile. Breathe. Be Thankful & Trust that everything is just as it should be.

See y’all next week :)

‘Till then,

Much Love & Stay Blessed,

OOTD | The Little White Dress for Fall

Hi luvs,

I’ve officially embraced the fall season with all its glory. Change and transition is a natural cycle in life. The beginning of a new season reminds me that the world is letting go of the past and starting a fresh slate. As mother nature renews itself and makes room for new growth, we are constantly reminded of this dance that the earth plays. With it, we can also choose to renew our hopes and dreams and turn a new leaf.

White signifies a blank slate, a new beginning. As we officially welcomed Fall I wore a little white dress to signify that I too am joining mother nature in letting go of the old and welcoming the new. I paired my dress with some of my favorite fall colors, a red blazer, brown oxford pumps, an animal print scarf and sealed it with a red lip.

Monday Motivation : Consistency + Insta Recap

A couple of Sundays ago, I mentioned that I’ll participating in a 30 day photo challenge for the month of September. I’ve been running behind on this but I like that it has challenged me to take more pictures and to update my instagram a lot more than I usually do.

Here is my Insta – Recap:

A beautiful blue sky| Blossoms at the florals |”From afar” – Could he be the only boy in the world? | Sneaking on the boys as they sleep | My reading Queue ~To read list | “Favorite Color” My wedding shoes in Fuchsia

Today’s Motivational Monday’s Word is Consistency:

be consistent

“To become an expert in a field of study, it merely takes 10,000 hour of focus and practice on the topic at hand.”

- The 10,000 hour rule, Malcolm Gladwell’s  Outliers: The Story of Success

Someone once told me that it takes 3 months of consistently doing something on a regular basis before you can turn it into a habit.

Another told me that it takes a decade of working on something before you become an expert, otherwise known as the 10,000 hour rule.

It’s not the little things that we do once in a while that change our life, it’s those we do diligently on a regular basis that eventually not only change our life but could determine our destiny.

I must admit, I have a problem with consistency, it’s boring and mundane. I’m one of those who often wants to try something new. Routine bores me.

In a way it’s a blessing but it’s also a curse. Being able to keep things fresh and interesting is a blessing. But in a way this hinders me from staying focused and consistent on long term goals.

It’s also pretty easy to stay consistent on those days when everything seems to be going my way…not so much when I’m having a bad day or things don’t go as planned.

One thing I’ve learnt about people who are able to stay consistent, is they keep things simple. Breaking down tasks over time makes them achievable and gives you a sense of accomplishment, which in return gives you the will to keep on going.

How do you maintain consistency in order to achieve your Goals?

Happy Monday & have a great week ahead,

Thanx so much for stopping by ♥,

Cut Out Boots for Fall :: Yay Or Nay?

Hi luvs,

It started raining this week, you know what that means right? time to officially put away summer wear and bring out fall wear in full gear. Even though it makes me sad to let go of sandals, I’m excited about the endless possibilities that comes with Fall/Winter shoe wear.

If I were to pick only one shoe to invest in for the Fall season it would have to be a pair of boots. I think this time of the year is the most fun when it comes to shoes because there are so many types of boots for whatever style you’re going for. Boots are a must have wardrobe essential when it comes to fall style, having a good pair is definitely a great investment. With so many types of boots out there it can be quite challenging choosing a pair.

One trend that has caught my eye this fall season is Cut Out Boots. I’m still on the fence about these and I really don’t know how to feel about them. For one I like the fact that the heel is low and blocked, which means they are great for everyday wear and comfort. And you know I’m all about comfort, yet I think these can be a tad bit too edgy and if you’re a girly girl striking the right balance is key.

The first thing I keep in mind, when investing in anything outfit related is comfort. For that reason I think I’m going to say YAY to cut out boots. I think they look great with a pair of skinny jeans or ankle jeans plus an over sized sweaters OR a skater dress/skirt plus a blazer/leather jacket for edge.

So what do you think of cut out boots?

Thanx so much for stopping by ♥,
