April Favorites

Hi luvs,

Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday :)

I really enjoy watching Monthly favorites on YT, it’s a great way for me to discover new products that I could potentially fall in love with :)

…so I thought why not start sharing some of my favorite monthly things as well. I also think this will be a great way for me to share some of the other things I love outside of hair and style.

April was a fun month, first signs of spring and great weather, cherry blossoms, birthdays, travel and I got to spend a lot more time outdoors.

It’s still a bit chilly/rainy but I’m greatful for more sunny days :) I did a few hauls in April so I thought this would be a great way to highlight some of the things I loved :)

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I spoke about this in a previous post, I’ve been using this in my morning and night time skin routine to remove any residue before I go in with a deep cleanser.

I also use it one last time before I moisturize my skin, to make sure there isn’t any residue left over. I love that it simplifies my regimen by doing some of the work before my actual cleanse.

Maybelline “The Nudes” Eyeshadow Pallette

Also mentioned in a previous post, this has been my go to eyeshadow pallette this past month. I love that it’s compact and can easily fit into my purse. I also love that it has instructions at the back which shows you different looks you can create, which is great for beginners or when you’ve run out of ideas :)

Covergirl Spellbound # 325

Since it’s spring I’ve been reaching out for brighter and pink shades of lipstick. When I’m not wearing my favorite red (Ruby Woo MAC), I’ve been reaching for this Covergirl Spellbound # 325. It’s a gorgeous shade of pink, I love that it’s moisturizing and not so intense, cause sometimes I want something bright but a little understated. The packaging is also very pretty. This is something I see myself wearing more and more as we head into the summer.

Essie Bachelorette Bash

You can never go wrong with pretty pink nails, this has been my favorite shade of pink for the month. It’s actually quite similar to the Covergirl Spellbound # 325 lipstick that I’ve been loving as well.

As far as outfits go, my favorite outfit for the month of April has to be this outfit I wore on my birthday.

I really love this Boat Neck Wrap Front White Sweater, from Romwe, it has gorgeous detailing and it’s really been keeping me warm as it still gets chilly sometimes. It is a little short although it’s not a crop top and I think it goes well with either high waisted pants or a high waisted skirt.

I also love this Carrie Skirt  from Gina Tricot that I paired it with. The detailing for this skirt is really pretty, it looks like it’s a wrap skirt when it actually isn’t. It has such a soft fabric and the light gray color is a perfect neutral that can be worn all year round. I love that it’s a piece that can be worn in both a professional setting as well as for an evening or night out.

Cosmetics Derigueur Sodium Bentonite Clay

As far as hair goes, I’m still in love with the Sodium Bentonite Clay from Cosmetics Derigueur. I’ve been using it 2 to 3 times a week, I love the slip and the fact that a little goes a long way. It’s safe to say I’ve been converted and I don’t think I will go back to calcium bentonite clay. I also use this as a deep cleanser on my face 2 to 3 times a week as well and I love how my skin has been feeling. If you’ve missed my full review on this definitely check it out here.

Next thing that I’ve been enjoying and I’d love to share is tea :) I don’t drink coffee but I drink a lot of tea. I like trying out new flavours and this past month I picked up this kav orient Chai Tea Latte Mix from hemkop. It’s something I’ve been drinking a lot when I want to give myself a treat, as it does have sugar and milk which I dont usually add in my tea. It says it has Indian spices but honestly it isn’t as spicy as authentic spiced chai tea. Either way I’ve been enjoying it and it’s been my guilty pleasure this past month.

The last thing is my favorite moment/place of the month, which was my cruise trip to tallinn if you missed it, definitely check out the full post. I really enjoyed the trip I think going on a cruise is a fun and comfortable way to travel as you get entertained on your way to your destination. There is so much to do on the ship from shopping, restaurants, bars, karaoke, clubs, shows, swimming pools, massage parlours, saunas as well as entertainment for kids.

I actually know a couple who, that’s all they do for their vacations and they say they get to see way more countries in a cost effective way. So if you haven’t been, I recommend doing it at least once :)

Lastly, I also did a video on my YT channel if you’d like to actually see any of the things mentioned above do check it out below:

Spring Beauty haul # 2

Hi luvs,

This is the second round of beauty products I picked up in the month of April. If you missed the first one check it out here.

Maybelline “The Nudes” Eyeshadow Pallette

As I said in a previous post, I’ve decided to start experimenting with makeup, so I picked up this eyeshadow pallette. I was attracted to how compact it is, something you can easily fit into your purse.

It has some really cute earthy, shimmery, gold, silver and gray colors. Perfect for creating a simple basic look or a night/day time smokey eye. I would recommend this to someone who’s a beginner and just starting to play around with makeup because of the price point and the fact that it is drugstore product. Once you master this you can always move up to the more professional cult palettes. Its also a great option for those of you looking for an affordable drugstore eyeshadow pallette.

After I got this palette I discovered they also have a  Maybelline “The Blushed Nudes” palette which looks absolutely gorgeous and is right up my alley. Some compare this to the Urban Decay Naked 3 Pallette so Im really looking forward to getting my hands on this one in the near future.

Loreal Paris Super Liner Duo Precision

I have never worn the Winged eyeliner/ “cat eye” before…LOL I know I’m late to this trend. I watched a bunch of YT videos and there are a variety of ways you can go about it from using a “pen” liner, or a cream/ gel liner. Being a beginner and all I chose to go with the pen option first.

So I picked up the Loreal Paris Super Liner Duo Precision to give it a try…and boy Oh boy is it hard!!! Those makeup gurus make it seem effortless LOL but they say, practice makes perfect…so here are my attempts so far.

I think I’m getting just a little better at it. I must say it does give the eyes that oomph and I think this look is growing on me :)

NYX Blush PB17 Desert Rose

I love NYX, they have great products at an affordable price, whenever I go makeup shopping I must pass by and pick up a product or two. This time around I picked up this blush in desert rose  and I’m really loving this soft gorgeous color. The only complaint I have with this is its a little hard to pick up with a brush but I guess that makes it last longer.

Essie first base coat & Essie Bachelorette Bash

As far as Nail brands my favorite is Essie… I seem to try other brands but always find myself coming back to them. This time around I picked up their first base coat which I love love love and this gorgeous pink color called Bachelorette Bash, just perfect for spring and summer.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 65 Pink Gold

Then I picked up this Maybelline E/S in Pink Gold which is another gorgeous Pink/Peach shimmery color. This color is so gorgeous it can be worn just on its own. I think this would look stunning on a summer evening during the sunset.

Urtekram Rose Crystal Roll On Deodorant

With summer only a few a weeks away, I decided to prep myself for the heat by picking up this Rose Crystal Roll On Deodorant by Urtekram. I actually picked this up during my trip in Tallinn, Estonia and I just love the smell. More importantly their products are certified organic and geared towards people with allergies. Their products are also lactose and gluten free. I also love their also packaging.

Garnier Skin Natural Cleansing Milk

I’m still on the hunt for my holy grail skincare product, this time around I went with this Garnier Skin Natural Cleansing Milk. It feels soft against the skin and is not irritating…the soft smell is a bonus.

And that’s it for my April Beauty Haul…do you have any products you picked up recently that you’d love to share? please let me know in the comments below.

Blessings & Love,

Cruise trip to Tallinn

Hi luvs,

April has always been a month of celebration for our family, we have two birthdays (mine and DS1) plus our wedding anniversary.  To celebrate we took some days off to go on a cruise to Tallinn, Estonia.

In the past when I heard the word “cruise” I would envision destinations like Hawaii or The Bahamas, but if you live in Europe or happen to visit, going on a cruise is a great way to explore other european countries you wouldn’t normally think of visiting. Plus its a fun and more comfortable way to travel as compared to a plane, train or a bus. Especially if you have young children.

We had lots of fun, so I thought I’d share some highlights from our trip :)

We left stockholm in the evening and spent the night at sea. The next morning we arrived in Tallinn at around 10:00 AM in the morning.

We then spent the day exploring the city. We visited a few of the big shopping malls and then ventured off to old Town where we had lunch.

We then headed back to the ship and spent another night at Sea and arrived back home at around 11:00 AM the next day.

There was never a dull moment on the ship, there were lots of restaurants with buffet options, two tax free shopping boutiques, two kids play areas, live music and clubs.

My favourite moment of the whole trip was the beautiful views and the food LOL

You can check out the video below for some highlights :)

Many Blessings & Love,
