He fights our battles (Day 11) – “What Is Love?” Challenge

It’s Day 11 of the “What Is Love?” Challenge, where for 29 days, I’m sharing bible verses on Love so we can gain a deeper understanding of the True meaning of Love according to God’s Divine plan.

On Day 10 we were reminded to be GRATEFUL for God’s steadfast love. Today’s verses are a continuation from Day 10 we continue to praise, worship and be grateful to God, for he fights our battles.

Psalm 136:14-26 English Standard Version (ESV)

14 and made Israel pass through the midst of it,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
15 but overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
16 to him who led his people through the wilderness,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;

17 to him who struck down great kings,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
18 and killed mighty kings,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
19 Sihon, king of the Amorites,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
20 and Og, king of Bashan,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
21 and gave their land as a heritage,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
22 a heritage to Israel his servant,
    for his steadfast love endures forever.

23 It is he who remembered us in our low estate,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
24 and rescued us from our foes,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
25 he who gives food to all flesh,
    for his steadfast love endures forever.

26 Give thanks to the God of heaven,
    for his steadfast love endures forever.

These verses remind us of the mighty things God did for the nation of Israel while they were slaves in Egypt…he saw their suffering and heard their cries and he kept his promise, to deliver them from the land of Egypt and lead them to the promise land.

While they were being chased by Pharaoh he parted the Red Sea for them and made a way…and then overthrew Pharaoh and his army…how REMARKABLE is that? not only that he continued to fight for them over and over again from many evil kings and rulers.

he fights our battles

We serve the same God today…not only does his LOVE for us never fail, he is our shield and armour, he is our protector, he is the ultimate provider, he fights our battles and all blessings come from him…

Every so often when we fight our biggest and baddest battles, we cry out to the Lord and ask for help, and sometimes we may not hear an answer immediately but just know he hears our cries…and he knows every detail of our lives…and he is working behind the scenes to provide the best solution for our problems.

How comforting is it to know that we have such a wonderful God on our side, that no matter what we go through, he is right there with us through it all, fighting for us on our behalf. We can go through life’s trials knowing that we have the best security system in place with him.

Everything we have or will ever be is all because of his MERCY, GRACE and LOVE.

Today, let’s pray and thank God for everything he has done for us, for all that he has provided for us, for all his blessings, for his protection, his Justice, for fighting our battles…let’s ask him to grant us the grace to put our faith on him, to be still and wait on him, to be thankful and to have grateful hearts, to be obedient to him for his is worthy of all the GLORY AND PRAISE. AMEN.

Stay Blessed,

Love & Gratitude (Day 10) – “What is Love?” Challenge

It’s Day 10 of the “What is Love?” Challenge, where for 29 days I’ll be sharing bible verses on Love in an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the True meaning of love according to God’s divine plan.

On Day 9 we were reminded to love each other because that’s our badge as Christians and it’s how others can experience God’s love through us.

Today’s verses remind us to be grateful for God’s everlasting love.

Psalm 136:1-13 English Standard Version (ESV)

136 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
    for his steadfast love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods,
    for his steadfast love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;

to him who alone does great wonders,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who by understanding made the heavens,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who spread out the earth above the waters,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who made the great lights,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
the sun to rule over the day,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
the moon and stars to rule over the night,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;

10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
11 and brought Israel out from among them,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
12 with a strong hand and an outstretched arm,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
13 to him who divided the Red Sea in two,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;

The first thing that came to mind as I was reading these verses is how magnificent our God is….these verses are all about worship and being grateful to the almighty for all that he has done and everything he does is out of LOVE.

Most of the time we take a lot of things for granted but if you really take the time to think about how this world came to be, all the intricate details and how everything works together in harmony, for years and years on end, it’s a MASTERPIECE!!! it truly is amazing and it just goes to show how AWESOME our CREATOR is :)

It really is all about perspective, you can either chose to get stuck obsessing over your problems and to be filled with negativity or you can focus on the magnificent things that God has done and know that if he can do all that, your problem is really miniscule in the bigger scheme of things. Having this knowledge it becomes so much easier to count your blessings and thank God for them.

Today, let’s pray that God grants us a grateful heart and that we’re able to see his blessings and presence, in everything that we do and that we may acknowledge his GREATNESS and his everlasting love.

Stay Blessed,

Love One Another (Day 9) – “What Is Love?” Challenge

daily-devotionals-jesus-loves-all   It’s Day 9 of the “What Is Love?” Challenge where for 29 days I’ll be sharing bible verses in an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the True meaning of Love according to God’s Divine Plan.

On Day 8 we read a beautiful declaration of God’s Love for us and we spoke about our worth in his eyes. Today’s verse is another reminder to love each other,

John 13:34-35 English Standard Version (ESV)

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Today’s reading emphasizes on loving others, this is a lesson we’ve had over and over through this challenge so far on Day 1, Day 4, Day 6 and Day 7… this goes to show just how important loving one another is…

The background story of today’s reading…it was almost time for Jesus to leave the world and return to his father…he already knew this but his disciples had no idea what was about to come….during his last supper with the disciples, he gave them a few words of advice…

IMO this was really his way of saying Goodbye…he wanted them to know what he wanted to happen in his absence…if they were to do anything or had learnt anything at all from him…this was the most important thing he wanted them to know….. He wanted us to love one another…

One symbolic thing he did during the supper was wash his disciples feet…he humbled himself and served them…and he was also about to do the biggest sacrifice ever done…all in the name of LOVE…he was about to pay the ultimate price for our sins by giving up his precious life…

He gave us a living example of what love should look like, love should be unconditional, love involves being humble, casting aside our pride and egos, love is sacrificial…as the Son of God, the disciples were the ones who were supposed to wash his feet, but he washed their feet to demonstrate that love requires serving others, it requires submission, humility, love demonstrates care to others, love requires obedience and love requires forgiveness. Jesus knew that one of the disciples was about to betray him which would lead to his crucifixion but he also trusted that this was part of God’s bigger plan and God was about to turn all that evil for our good…

Jesus demonstrated to us TRUE LOVE and he set an example for us as to what LOVE should look like.

And he says…as his followers, loving others, is our badge, when we love others the way he loved us, we demonstrate pure christ like love and this way we are living examples of what God embodies…LOVE.

Today let’s pray that God helps us to cast aside our pride and ego, to help us serve others in love, to help us submit, obey and humble ourselves before others in love and ask him to help us as his disciples be living examples of what it means to truly love as he loved us.

Stay Blessed,

You are worthy of LOVE ( Day 8 ) – “What Is love?” Challenge

It’s Day 8 of the “What is Love?” challenge, where for 29 days I will be sharing bible verses on love in an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the TRUE meaning of Love.

We’ve completed week 1 of this challenge and for the upcoming weeks I’m trying to think of a new schedule, I won’t be able to do these posts everyday but I will try to get them out as often as I can.

On Day 7 we learnt that Perfect LOVE casts out FEAR and that Love & Fear can’t coexist, through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God has shown us PERFECT LOVE and because of this we no longer have fear of Judgement or Punishment.

Today verses are a beautiful declaration of God’s Love for us,

Zephaniah 3:17-20 English Standard Version (ESV)

17 The Lord your God is in your midst,
    a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
    he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.
18 I will gather those of you who mourn for the festival,
    so that you will no longer suffer reproach.
19 Behold, at that time I will deal
    with all your oppressors.
And I will save the lame
    and gather the outcast,
and I will change their shame into praise
    and renown in all the earth.
20 At that time I will bring you in,
    at the time when I gather you together;
for I will make you renowned and praised
    among all the peoples of the earth,
when I restore your fortunes
    before your eyes,” says the Lord.

When I read these verses the first thing that came to mind is how God delights in us, we often forget that we are his beautiful creation and in his eyes…we are good and perfect.

This world constantly has a way of implying that we are not worthy of this, that or the other…

we are constantly reminded that we are not enough, because of either our race, our background, our socio-economic status, our career, the amount of money you have, your looks, your gender, your age etc

But you should never buy into this lie from the Devil…in God eyes you are PERFECT, UNIQUE, you have PURPOSE and a DESTINY! Each and every single one of us are precious in his eyes… he rejoices in us with his gladness…it says “he exults over you with loud singing” Imagine THAT!!! God the almighty is so pleased with you his creation that he sings for you, he rejoices in you!!!

And if you are in mourning he says he will make that you no longer suffer in disappointment and he promises that in his time he will deal with ALL your oppressors!!!
6ee48bccb61caf29db1f7d574e876c08If you’re going through something and you feel like you’re at the end of the rope, just know God says he is the God of the oppressed, he is the God of the Lame, he is the God of the outcast and the underdog!!! He is mighty to save, he will save you, he will turn your shame into PRAISE and make it known to all of the earth. He will make you known, praised and restore your fortune!!!

Today it has been placed in my heart to speak about suicide…I’m not sure if there is someone who is considering this, but I strongly feel like delivering this message…I’ve known a few people who have been victims of this tragedy…

I’m not quite sure what is going through the mind of a person contemplating this…all I know is they must be coming from a place of intense hurt, pain, despair and loss of hope…they must be feeling like there is nothing more to live for, they must be feeling like everyone has turned their back on them and nobody loves or cares for them and if that’s their truth… they feel like they might as well not even be here…

well beloved God loves you, he delights in you, he rejoices in you, please don’t buy the lies of the devil, the devil wants your destruction, he knows how precious you are in the eyes of the Lord…it truly is not worth it…you doing so will not serve anything, life will continue on and those who have caused you hurt and pain will continue living their life, they will move on…

don’t grieve the Holy Spirit, let God get you through the darkness, seek out his love and you will find it, seek out his peace and he will give it to you, just know as long as you’re still breathing and on the face of the earth, no matter what you go through, God loves you intensely, you are his greatest creation and he is mighty to save, he can and will get you through anything! Not only does God love you but just know there are people out there who care, who love you and who will be there for you…reach out!!! Stay strong and keep moving on!

I pray that all those who may be going through trials and tribulations may find the tremendous love, peace, hope, faith and strength in God.

I Love You & Stay Blessed,
