You waited…

Travis-Greene-You-Waited-Art

Today’s post, has been inspired by a song that has ministered to my soul…I discovered this song last week and it’s been on repeat…I just can’t get the words out of my mind…it has uplifted me and brought me to a deep place of worship and communion with God.

The title, is “You Waited” By Travis Greene…it’s a new single off of his new upcoming album. The song has just been released this month.

It’s a praise/worship song with the underlying message of GRATITUDE…

The singer asks…

“Where would I be? If you left me God?”

This song touched me deep in my soul and reminded me to be GRATEFUL…

GRATEFUL for God’s GRACE and unconditional LOVE…

GRATEFUL, that God patiently waits for us to come back under his wings…when we’ve lost our way…just like the prodigal son, see Luke 15:11-32

GRATEFUL, that God is always there for us…he never forsakes us or leaves us…no matter what!!! He’s always there through thick and thin…

It reminds us that no matter how far we’ve strayed or what we’re going through…

He just keeps waiting, patiently…

because, NOTHING can separate us from God’s Love for us…

Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,  neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

To be honest, I’ve had some really hard times these past few years…and the only explanation I have, as to how I’ve been able to keep on going is by God’s LOVE, STRENGTH, and GRACE…without him, I don’t think I’d be able to survive all that I’ve been through…

I’ve had nights and days where my heart was heavy…and I’ve felt like all the walls were closing in on me and there’s no way out or no end to my situation…but God…

God’s love carried me through and gave me hope and faith…

that as long as I’m still here, I matter to him, I have a purpose, and he loves me…unconditionally

This song is a testament to that…

Most people think, Christianity is about being “Perfect” and that Christians are judgmental, stuck up people, who sit there and point fingers at others….and think that they’re better than everybody else…

But for me, Christianity is about LOVE, MERCY, GRACE, and FATIH!!!

It’s about imperfect people, flawed people, SINNERS finding their way through God’s perfect Love.

Romans 3:23

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

I can honestly say that I’m not Perfect nor have I ever been…but that’s ok because I’m human…I’ve done things and made choices that I’m not proud of…

but God…He waited for me patiently…

You called out my name
Knew my past, covered my shame
This amazing grace
You’ve shown
So patiently

For me, Christianity is about…

laying it all down to God, bearing our soul to him and surrendering…Giving it all to him…

acknowledging, that we can’t do this thing called life on our own…

acknowledging, that we have no control…and we can only seek security in him!!!

recognizing, that at the end of the day, we are nothing without him…

That he’s all we’ve got…that even our breath comes from him!!!

so why in the world, do we think we can go through this life, without relying on the creator of everything?

So today dear friend, I just wanted to share with you, my GRATITUDE to God, because if it weren’t for him, I truly don’t know where I’d be….Thank you, Father… I love you.

God Bless,

XOXO,

Dee

Four things you should be praying for ( Day 16 ) – “What is Love? Challenge”

rootedandestablishedinlove

It’s Day 16 of the “What Is Love? Challenge“, where for 29 days I’m sharing bible verses on Love so that we can gain a deeper understanding of the true meaning of Love according to God’s divine plan.

On Day 15 we talked about the gift of Spiritual Rebirth, our inheritance and the purpose of pain and suffering.

Today we’ll talk about Four things we should be praying for…

Ephesians 3:14-21 English Standard Version (ESV)

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Praying doesn’t always come naturally, sometimes it feels like a routine where you’re simply repeating the same conversation over and over….and sometimes you simply go blank and don’t really know what to say…

On times like this you can always turn to the Word Of God, not only is the bible a guide for how we should live but it’s also filled with prayers…we can use it to learn how to pray and even use the scriptures as our own prayers…

Today we take a look at Paul’s prayer as a template of four things we should be praying for or including in our prayers…

The first thing we learn from Paul is how he prays..he starts praying by bowing his knees as a sign of respect, sincerity and worship to God. He also starts his prayer by acknowledging God, who he is and how great he is…

once he’s done he goes ahead and prays for 4 things:

1. For Inner Strength through the Holy Spirit: Inner Strength is important in our walk with Christ because it’s how we gain our integrity and it helps us keeps focused on our Journey.

2. Next he prays that Christ may dwell in our Hearts through FAITH: As a result of Inner Strength we gain FAITH…and as a result of FAITH we have Christ dwelling in our hearts.

3. He also prays that we’re able to comprehend what is the breadth, length, height and depth and to know the love of Christ that surpasses all understanding: When we have Christ dwelling in our Hearts, we have the privilege of experiencing and understanding just how much Christ Loves us.

4. Lastly he prays that we’re filled with the Fullness of God: Which can only be done once we’re able to comprehend just how much Christ/God loves us…

and at this point Paul ends his prayer with worship and praise to God, who is Able to to do far more than we ask for or comprehend…

abundantlymorethanweask

As we can see from Paul’s prayer, in order for us to get the full experience of God working in our lives we need to have Inner Strength through the Holy Spirit, we have to have Christ dwelling in our hearts through Faith, we need to comprehend the Love of Christ that surpasses all understanding and finally to be filled with the fullness of God…

Once we are filled with the fullness of God we’re able to see just how powerful God is in our lives, we’re able to witness his work and hand in our life…and we actually get to see his will for our life…that what he gives us, is not what we want it’s actually what we need and far more abundant than our minds can comprehend or even ask for…AMEN

God Bless you,

XOXO

Unfailing Love, Pain & Purpose (Day 5)

satisfy-us-in-morning-with-love

It’s Day 5 of  the “What is Love?” Challenge, where for 29 days I’m sharing bible verses on Love in an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the TRUE meaning of LOVE according to God’s Divine Plan.

In yesterday’s post we re-visited the greatest commandment, and I spoke about Love and Forgiveness and how we can get past those feelings of anger, resentment, bitterness, hatred, revenge, judgement, criticism to a place of loving those who have intentionally or unintentionally hurt us.

Today we learn how God’s unfailing love can get us past our pain and give us purpose.

Psalm 42:8-11 English Standard Version (ESV)

By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,
and at night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life.
I say to God, my rock:
    “Why have you forgotten me?
Why do I go mourning
because of the oppression of the enemy?”
10 As with a deadly wound in my bones,
    my adversaries taunt me,
while they say to me all the day long,
    “Where is your God?”

11 Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
    my salvation and my God.

As I was reading this text I didn’t quite understand the meaning of “steadfast love” so I had to look it up, it has been translated from the Hebrew word Chesed, but there are many other translations, this is what I found

Biblical scholars have often complained that the word חֶסֶד in the Hebrew Bible is difficult to translate into English, because it really has no precise equivalent in our language. English versions usually try to represent it with such words as “loving-kindness,” “mercy,” “steadfast love,” and sometimes “loyalty,” … ( Source )

My thoughts on today’s verses is that, in life at one point or another we must face trials and tribulations, there will be situations that will break you down so bad you have nowhere to turn to and you’ll feel so alone in this world…

And there is nothing the Devil loves more than stealing your hope and faith in God during trying times, he will use the very people in your life, some may even be people you thought you can trust or you thought loved you….

…these people will talk about you behind your back, some may even laugh at you in your face and if you are a believer some may taunt you, “Where is your God now?” some people may even abandon you when you need them the most…

And things may get so bad that it may even feel as though God has also deserted you…you may call out to him but not feel a connection, you may pray but there may be no answers from Him or even a resolution to your situation…We may wonder why is he letting this happen?

purpose and pain

during these times we must always keep faith and hope in his unfailing love, in his chesed…we must always praise him and keep praying as he is our salvation and our God…his love can and surely will sustain you…

prayeristhebridge

There’s a big difference between going through trials with God and without him…life is tough and no one should have to carry the burdens of this world alone!!! Sometimes the exact reason we are cornered and everything is stripped away from us, is so we can turn to him, so we can understand that without him, we are NOTHING!!! and ultimately he is all we need…and although you may go through struggles and hardships, he will give you his peace, you will have this wonderful sense of peace knowing that whatever it is he is handling it, he is taking care of it, you can let go of the reigns of control and  just know he will never desert you…

fly

therefore today I urge you, no matter what you may be going through, if you haven’t already turn, your burdens to the Lord, let him carry them for you, give him all your worries, give him your life, surrender to him, let him be your comforter, let him give you his peace that surpases all understanding, receive his love and have faith and hope…know that as long as you have him, you will come out a WINNER. GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Today let’s pray that God may give us strength to endure whatever trials and tribulations we’re faced with, to keep the faith, to keep hope in his unfailing love and to understand that there is purpose in our suffering and to ask him to reveal to us within his own time what that purpose is and that we shall always depend on him and that we should always praise and rejoice in him throughout everything and throughout whatever our circumstances are. Amen

Stay blessed,

XOXO
