Happy New Year 2018!!!! I hope you had a wonderful and restful holiday season!!!
As I was reflecting on the year past, I recall posting this prayer in the beginning of 2017…God truly delivered and went beyond my expectations in 2017

deargod2017

My lack was turned into plenty, as God opened new doors and gave way to new opportunities…

2017 was the year of clarity for me as a person and where I stand in my relationship with God…as I surrendered more and more of my life to him, I had certainty because of the Faith I had in him…

When I say I went through it, I am not joking, oh boy was I put through the wringer…But God!!!

He turned every single one of those tests into testimonies…

He worked big miracles in my life and I truly believe HE IS THE GOD OF MIRACLES…

And of course there was a lot of growth and change in my life…

Because of the lessons learnt in 2017 I’m stepping boldly into 2018 with HOPE and FAITH in God’s promises for my life.

Without God, Hope is NOTHING but wishful thinking that our expectations and desires will come to pass…with God Hope is having confident assurance and trust in his promises for our lives.

Romans 8:24-25 (AMP)

24 For in this hope we were saved [by faith]. But hope [the object of] which is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he already sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait eagerly for it with patience and composure.

Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)

11 Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].

I am confident and have HOPE and FAITH because, God is not a man that he should lie (Numbers 23 : 19) therefore I know, the word God has spoken unto my life shall not return void but will accomplish what God desires and achieve the purpose for which he sent it. (Isaiah 55 : 11)

Happy New Year once again, and I pray that God blesses your 2018 abundantly, beyond your expectations. That you may testify of the goodness of the Lord AMEN

PS: The images above are from around August 2017, I have a lot of catching up to do here on the blog :)

Love Always,

XOXO,

Dee

We live in a fast paced world…everything moves at the speed of lightning, everything you want or need can be acquired at your fingertips…this has made us really impulsive and impatient…

One of the characteristics we need to develop as christians is PATIENCE, however, this is something that is really rare these days. In the bible, PATIENCE is one of the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), it’s something we bear when God’s spirit lives within us…

When God gives you a dream or a vision to fulfill for your life, he doesn’t simply grant it to you, he makes you go through a long process where he develops your character. God is not a genie who simply hands us things, but he makes sure that we have grown spiritually, that we have attained spiritual maturity and are ready to handle the responsibility that comes with the destiny he has for us.

In the bible, there are many stories where God makes a covenant/promise, but it takes years and years before the person sees the promise come to manifestation.

It took about 25 Years from the time God promised Abraham and Sarah that they would have a child to when they actually had Isaac. When God first made the promise to Abraham, he was 75 years old, he finally had Isaac when he was 100 years old Genesis 12 – 25

It took about 100 years from when God told Noah to build the ark, to the time when it started to rain and the flood destroyed humanity. Genesis 5:32-10:1

Joseph received God’s promise that he would be in a position of power and authority, through dreams. He had these dream when he was a young boy..however, he ended up being sold into slavery and had to wait 13 years, enduring many trials, before this dream came into fruition Genesis 37 -50

Moses was destined by God to deliver the Israelites from Egypt and to bring them to the promise land, it took about 80 years to prepare him for his role and 40 of those years were spent in the wilderness Exodus 2  to Deuteronomy 34

Jacob had to wait 7 years before Rachel was given to him as his wife Genesis 29:18-30

David had to wait about 15 years from the time he was chosen to become king until he was actually king 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel

The lesson to be learnt, God doesn’t just hand us our calling or blessing, he makes sure we develop a character worthy of our calling/blessing.

When we wait for God’s promise we usually go through a lot of trials and tests, these are often situations where our faith is tested, our endurance is built and the fruit of patience is being developed…during this time, we learn to have full dependence on God, we relinquish control of our lives and have intimacy with God…

James 1:2-4  (ESV)

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Love Always,

You waited…

Travis-Greene-You-Waited-Art

Today’s post, has been inspired by a song that has ministered to my soul…I discovered this song last week and it’s been on repeat…I just can’t get the words out of my mind…it has uplifted me and brought me to a deep place of worship and communion with God.

The title, is “You Waited” By Travis Greene…it’s a new single off of his new upcoming album. The song has just been released this month.

It’s a praise/worship song with the underlying message of GRATITUDE…

The singer asks…

“Where would I be? If you left me God?”

This song touched me deep in my soul and reminded me to be GRATEFUL…

GRATEFUL for God’s GRACE and unconditional LOVE…

GRATEFUL, that God patiently waits for us to come back under his wings…when we’ve lost our way…just like the prodigal son, see Luke 15:11-32

GRATEFUL, that God is always there for us…he never forsakes us or leaves us…no matter what!!! He’s always there through thick and thin…

It reminds us that no matter how far we’ve strayed or what we’re going through…

He just keeps waiting, patiently…

because, NOTHING can separate us from God’s Love for us…

Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,  neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

To be honest, I’ve had some really hard times these past few years…and the only explanation I have, as to how I’ve been able to keep on going is by God’s LOVE, STRENGTH, and GRACE…without him, I don’t think I’d be able to survive all that I’ve been through…

I’ve had nights and days where my heart was heavy…and I’ve felt like all the walls were closing in on me and there’s no way out or no end to my situation…but God…

God’s love carried me through and gave me hope and faith…

that as long as I’m still here, I matter to him, I have a purpose, and he loves me…unconditionally

This song is a testament to that…

Most people think, Christianity is about being “Perfect” and that Christians are judgmental, stuck up people, who sit there and point fingers at others….and think that they’re better than everybody else…

But for me, Christianity is about LOVE, MERCY, GRACE, and FATIH!!!

It’s about imperfect people, flawed people, SINNERS finding their way through God’s perfect Love.

Romans 3:23

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

I can honestly say that I’m not Perfect nor have I ever been…but that’s ok because I’m human…I’ve done things and made choices that I’m not proud of…

but God…He waited for me patiently…

You called out my name
Knew my past, covered my shame
This amazing grace
You’ve shown
So patiently

For me, Christianity is about…

laying it all down to God, bearing our soul to him and surrendering…Giving it all to him…

acknowledging, that we can’t do this thing called life on our own…

acknowledging, that we have no control…and we can only seek security in him!!!

recognizing, that at the end of the day, we are nothing without him…

That he’s all we’ve got…that even our breath comes from him!!!

so why in the world, do we think we can go through this life, without relying on the creator of everything?

So today dear friend, I just wanted to share with you, my GRATITUDE to God, because if it weren’t for him, I truly don’t know where I’d be….Thank you, Father… I love you.

God Bless,

XOXO,

Dee

Four things you should be praying for ( Day 16 ) – “What is Love? Challenge”

rootedandestablishedinlove

It’s Day 16 of the “What Is Love? Challenge“, where for 29 days I’m sharing bible verses on Love so that we can gain a deeper understanding of the true meaning of Love according to God’s divine plan.

On Day 15 we talked about the gift of Spiritual Rebirth, our inheritance and the purpose of pain and suffering.

Today we’ll talk about Four things we should be praying for…

Ephesians 3:14-21 English Standard Version (ESV)

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Praying doesn’t always come naturally, sometimes it feels like a routine where you’re simply repeating the same conversation over and over….and sometimes you simply go blank and don’t really know what to say…

On times like this you can always turn to the Word Of God, not only is the bible a guide for how we should live but it’s also filled with prayers…we can use it to learn how to pray and even use the scriptures as our own prayers…

Today we take a look at Paul’s prayer as a template of four things we should be praying for or including in our prayers…

The first thing we learn from Paul is how he prays..he starts praying by bowing his knees as a sign of respect, sincerity and worship to God. He also starts his prayer by acknowledging God, who he is and how great he is…

once he’s done he goes ahead and prays for 4 things:

1. For Inner Strength through the Holy Spirit: Inner Strength is important in our walk with Christ because it’s how we gain our integrity and it helps us keeps focused on our Journey.

2. Next he prays that Christ may dwell in our Hearts through FAITH: As a result of Inner Strength we gain FAITH…and as a result of FAITH we have Christ dwelling in our hearts.

3. He also prays that we’re able to comprehend what is the breadth, length, height and depth and to know the love of Christ that surpasses all understanding: When we have Christ dwelling in our Hearts, we have the privilege of experiencing and understanding just how much Christ Loves us.

4. Lastly he prays that we’re filled with the Fullness of God: Which can only be done once we’re able to comprehend just how much Christ/God loves us…

and at this point Paul ends his prayer with worship and praise to God, who is Able to to do far more than we ask for or comprehend…

abundantlymorethanweask

As we can see from Paul’s prayer, in order for us to get the full experience of God working in our lives we need to have Inner Strength through the Holy Spirit, we have to have Christ dwelling in our hearts through Faith, we need to comprehend the Love of Christ that surpasses all understanding and finally to be filled with the fullness of God…

Once we are filled with the fullness of God we’re able to see just how powerful God is in our lives, we’re able to witness his work and hand in our life…and we actually get to see his will for our life…that what he gives us, is not what we want it’s actually what we need and far more abundant than our minds can comprehend or even ask for…AMEN

God Bless you,

XOXO
