You are worth more broken…

This past sunday, our Pastor talked about the Kintsugi art from the Japanese culture…the concept where they take broken objects and fix them using gold…hence transforming them into a piece of valuable art. The ironic thing is, this week two friends of mine brought to my attention a video sharing the same message…Coincidence? I think not…

“In Japanbroken objects are often repaired with gold. The flaw is seen as a unique piece of the object’s history, which adds to its beauty. Consider this when you feel broken.” – Anonymous

His message was that we shouldn’t hide our flaws, imperfections or whatever we’ve gone through in life that’s broken us, but embrace these broken pieces as a badge of honor….

We should let the light of Jesus shine through the cracks of our brokenness, strengthening us, healing us and turning us into a beautiful piece of art.

Meaning, we become more valuable through our brokenness, because when Jesus mends us, he turns us into something even more precious than we once were…How beautiful is that?

“God often uses our deepest pain as the launching pad for our greatest calling.”

Whenever you go through something traumatic in life, you have a choice, to either stay broken and become a victim..

OR to rise through your circumstances, learn through your mistakes and use what you went through as a launching pad to something bigger and better…

“Let your past be your springboard,

not your quick-sand”

- Steve Maraboli

God never wastes any pain, within our pain we find purpose, within our pain we gain wisdom and experience and within our pain we are empowered to become a catalyst of change and help to others…

Only God can turn a mess into a message,

a test into a testimony,

a trial into a triumph,

a victim into a victory!

Isaiah 61:1-3 (NLT)

61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me,
for the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted
and to proclaim that captives will be released
    and prisoners will be freed.
He has sent me to tell those who mourn
that the time of the Lord’s favor has come,
and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
To all who mourn in Israel,
he will give a crown of beauty for ashes,
a joyous blessing instead of mourning,
    festive praise instead of despair.
In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks
that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

Love Always,

Not by my STRENGTH…

You don’t know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice - Bob Marley

This week’s inspiration comes from a story I read in one of my daily devotionals…in the story a little girl tells her father she thinks she will never be strong enough for Jesus, her father assured her when the time comes, God will provide her with sufficient strength. Sure enough when she grew up she mustered the strength to help Jews escape Nazis during the Second World war…

strength to overcome

God's strength

I hope these words encourage you today, remember, you have a mighty God who loves you dearly…he will surely provide you with the strength you need to overcome whatever giants you face in life,

2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Philippians 2:13 (AMP)

13 For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.

Love Always,

And the celebrations of life continue…

Hi luvs,

On monday 4.20 was my son’s birthday, to say I feel blessed is truly an understatement. LOL Look at that goofy smile LOL Happy Birthday my love XOXO

P.S: Our birthdays are only 3 days apart :)

You see, sometimes we seem to take life and each day for granted not knowing that the next moment is not guaranteed…On the same day a friend of my husband lost her daughter, she was only a couple of weeks away from turning two.

Although, I can not possibly feel the pain she is going through right now, my heart is truly aching and broken for her loss. Such a young life lost in a blink of the eye. Dreams shattered. RIP lil’ Angel.

I’ve been going back and forth on how to write this post and no matter how much I think about it, there are simply no words. I simply couldn’t write about the blessings of another year of life for my son without thinking about this mother’s loss.

Psalm 139

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes in my previous post here on the blog and on social media, I truly appreciate it :)

In Between Goals…

Hi luvs,

I said I’ll be back tomorrow, so here I am :) back earlier than promised. I’ll be travelling again next week tomorrow Monday and will probably be gone for a month this time. In the mean time I won’t be able to do my regular posts therefore things will be a bit random over here. (Most of these posts are pre-scheduled *wink)

When I do get situated I’ll be instagramming (Is that even a word?). If you’re curious as to where I’m heading follow me on instagram @msdeekay2012 …otherwise I will try to do insta-recaps here on the blog at least once a week to keep you guys up to speed on my whereabouts.

Even though this trip was very random and came up really unexpectedly…life happens and when it does live it to the fullest and enjoy every moment. Have a great weekend and a productive week ahead.

‘Till then,

Thanx so much for stopping by ♥,

Much Love & Stay Blessed,
